Pest-free island

There was a wily stoat on the loose on one of Auckland's peat-free island it could have swum away. The stoat had been first found on Motukorea\browns island by a conservation dog mid march.

Team also found what looked to be footprints in the sand and discovered where the stoat hides his food. Dozens of traps were laid down and cameras set up there have been hour sent scouring the island with the dog team. Despite that, Auckland council conservation ranger had not found the sneaky stoat.

Senior ranger Miranda Bennett had said the latest search on Friday still have not found anything.
